Schar Freeman studied art throughout college and under the guidance of many established artists. She migrated from Portland, Oregon and made Kauai her home in 2000.
She is an award-winning artist recognized for her vibrant use of color, strong women of Hawaiian and Native American cultures, whimsical figures and landscapes. She has been published in We’Moon Calender since 1998.
Schar’s series of mixed media, “Aina Kauai” pictured below uses the sands, shells and sea glass of Kauai in these original acrylic paintings.
